In the period 1915 to 1923 the London & South Western's London suburban services were electrified, powered by this L & S W Railway power station at Wimbledon Park. The photograph was taken for Dick, Kerr and Company, a locomotive and tramcar manufacturer based in Kilmarnock, Scotland and Preston, England.
