Description

These tents were destined for troops on the front lines in the last six months of the First World War. Maple and Co was a large department store selling furniture, carpets and interior fittings, but like so many other companies, would have had their work force and factories adapted to help the war effort. Photographed at one of the Maple and Co factories in north-west London.
