Description

This photograph is part of a set showing Downshire House and its grounds. At the time they were taken the owner of the house was Sir Stephen Herbert Gatty who during his time here had extensive formal gardens laid out in the grounds. Downshire House was built circa 1770 although parts of the house including the stair hall date from the 20th century.
