Whiteacre Pumping Station, dating from 1872-1884, was built to pump water to Birmingham from the Rivers Blythe and Bourne. This particular building and the equipment within it were built in the early 20th century but have subsequently been replaced. The photograph is one of a set commissioned by Paterson Engineering Co, manufacturers of water purification equipment.
