Park Hill was the home of millionaire sugar merchant, philanthropist and art collector Sir Henry Tate until his death in 1899. His wife continued living here until her death in 1919. This photograph is one of a series taken to illustrate the sales brochure produced for the auction of the house and grounds in May 1920 (see SC00708).
