Description

The theatre was built in 1910 from a derelict banking hall that was part of the Adam brothers' Adelphi development. This photograph was taken in 1920 and documents the reconstruction of the theatre to its original designs after it was bombed in 1917. The photograph was taken for Hayward and Maynard, the architects who carried out the renovations from 1917 to 1920. The theatre was demolished in 1949.
