This photograph is one of a series taken for Daniel Smith, Oakley and Garrard, estate agents and auctioneers. The British Mercedes Motor Company, who are mentioned in the Bedford Lemere daybook in respect of one of the photographs (BL24920/009), developed land at Stonebridge Park in the early 1920s.
