The Bedford Lemere daybook states that the photograph was taken on the estate belonging to West Horsley Place. A dairy farm, Wix Farm, was on the estate at the time of the photograph, and so it is likely that it was the location for this image.
The photograph was taken for Osborn and Mercer of London, auctioneers and land agents, who were handling the sale of the estate.
