Description

The comptometer, invented in 1887 by American, Dor Felt, was the first successful manual calculating machine. The photograph was taken for H J Robbins Ltd. The company shown in the photograph has been assumed to be London General Omnibus Co Ltd, although the handwriting in the Bedford Lemere daybook which would confirm this is not clear.
