Description

At the time this photograph was taken, Clarence Charles Hatry was the Managing Director of the Commercial Bank of London Ltd. Ten years later, he was sentenced to 14 years imprisonment for fraud and forgery in a case which was thought to have contributed to the Wall Street Crash of 1929. The photograph was commissioned by Hampton & Sons, furnishers.
