Description

This photograph was commissioned by P&O, the Peninsular an Oriental Steam Navigation Company, of which Mackay was Chariman. The portrait was painted by Philip Alexius de Laszlo (1869 - 1937), a Hungarian artist well known for his portraiture of aristocratic and royal personages.
