Description

The Hotel Metropole opened in 1885 as a high class hotel and became a popular venue for banquets, balls and dinner parties. This photograph was commissioned by Harrods department store who furnished several of the rooms for the hotel's re-opening in 1921 after its requisition by the government during World War One.
