Description

The photograph was commissioned by the Leathersellers' Company, a Royal Livery Company whose Hall was located at 13 St Helen's Place, at the eastern end of the street. The buildings on the northern and southern sides of the street would all be demolished in the inter-war period and replaced by classically-influenced terraces occupying the same plots. The Leathersellers' Hall was relocated to number 15 St. Helen's Place in 1926.
