The ocean liner 'SS Conte Rosso' was constructed in Glasgow for the Italian Lloyd Sabaudo Line. She undertook her maiden voyage between Italy and New York in May 1922. The photograph is one of a set, taken for shipbuilders William Beardmore & Company, showing the vessel upon completion. She was torpedoed and sunk whilst operating as a troop ship during World War II.
