Description

The Governors' Committee Room was located in the east wing of the original hospital buildings, which was destroyed during the Second World War. The chairs were evidently saved and relocated in 1950 to the Court Room, previously known as the Martha Ward, in the central block of the hospital.

The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the architectural partnership of Thompson and Walford were responsible for works on the building, and that the photograph is one of a series commissioned by Guy's Hospital.
