Addington Park was originally a hunting site belonging to the Manor of Addington. In the 19th century, the Archbishops of Canterbury used Addington Palace, in the centre of the Park, as their summer home. The grounds of the park were acquired by Croydon Borough Council in 1930 following negotiations with the owners of the Addington Palace Estate. This photograph was taken for Young and Macintosh.
