The text translates loosely as follows: 'Holy Apostolic Palaces. The Sanctity of our Holy Father Pope Pius XI, wanting to give sovereign consideration to 'The Canadian Pacific Railway', graciously grants the company the right to raise the arms of His Holiness. Vatican 17 March 1923. [Signed] The Butler of his Holiness, Prefect of the Sacred Apostolic Palaces'.
