Description

Canadian troops marched to liberate Mons during the final hundred days of the war, culminating in a vicious battle in and around the town for two days prior to the Armistice on the 11th of November 1918, with around 46,000 troops lost from the Canadian Corps alone during this period. This copy photograph was commissioned by the Canadian Pacific Railway Company.
