Description

Built in 1902, Golders Green Crematorium was one of the earliest crematoria to have opened in Britain. It was designed by Ernest George and Alfred B. Yates, with later additions by architects including Edwyn Lutyens. Many notable persons have been cremated at Golders Green, including Neville Chamberlain, Rudyard Kipling, Sigmund Freud, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Bram Stoker and Anna Pavlova. This image was taken for the London Crematorium Company.
