Description

St Columba's belongs to the Church of Scotland. The building shown here, dating from 1884, was destroyed during the blitz in 1941 and replaced by a new church in 1955. The Bedford Lemere daybook records Henry Lennox Anderson as the architect for this mosaic. His father John Macvicar Anderson designed the church in the 1880s, but Henry Lennox took over the architectural practice upon the death of his father in 1915.
