Description

Rudolph Steiner (1861-1925) was a philosopher, architect and social reformer. He founded the Anthroposophical Society, a philosophical movement recognising the spiritual freedom of the individual. Rudolph Steiner House (Hall), home to the Anthroposophical Society in Great Britain, was designed by Montague Wheeler and constructed in 1924-26 with offices and meeting rooms added in 1931-32. The architecture of the building was intended to be a visual expression of the ideology of the movement.
