Signs on the construction site show that steelwork was supplied by Redpath, Brown & Co Ltd and Holloway Bros were the contractors. There are also posters displayed on hoardings around the site advertising products such as Sunlight Soap and Velocium, a hay fever remedy. The Bedford Lemere daybook records the clients as 'Building'.
