The photograph was taken for British-American Laundry Machinery Company, laundry engineers, who presumably supplied the laundry machinery shown in this photograph. At least three laundry businesses were operating from Gayford Road at this time, one of whom was a previous client of Bedford Lemere & Co, Purewhite Laundry Service Company. The photograph is described in the Bedford Lemere daybook as being a reduction of BL28592/003 & 004 combined.
