Stuart House, built in 1926, was for many years home to the Cambridge Board of Extramural Studies. It was named after James Stuart, politician and a former Professor of Applied Mathematics. After his death in 1913, his widow founded an extramural lectureship in his memory. Stuart House is now home to the Cambridge University Careers Service. The photograph was taken for H H Martyn & Company.
