Description

Rudolph Steiner (1861-1925) was a philosopher, architect and social reformer. He founded the Anthroposophical Society, a philosophical movement recognising the spiritual freedom of the individual. Rudolph Steiner House (Hall), home to the Anthroposophical Society in Great Britain, was designed by Montague Wheeler, of the architectural practice Hoare & Wheeler, and constructed in 1924-26 with offices and meeting rooms added in 1931-32. The architecture of the building was intended to be a visual expression of the ideology of the movement.
