Description

The baths were designed by Robert Angel (Borough Surveyor) and H Tansley. In addition to the male and female public baths and wash houses, the complex also contained Turkish and Russian baths.

This photograph was taken for Shaws Glazed Brick Company, who were manufacturers of architectural ceramics. Later known as Shaws of Darwen. The image has been inscribed with details of the architects, brick suppliers and type of brickwork used in the building.
