Description

The Institute was financed by a £35,000 gift from the tobacco manufacturer and philanthropist Bernhard Baron, after whom the faculty was named. The exact location of this building is uncertain; records show that it was in existence until at least 1960, and that it was located somewhere behind the main hospital building. The Bedford Lemere daybook records that the photograph was taken for W H Gaze and Sons Limited, electric light engineers.
