In 1897-98 the two modest cottages at 118 and 119 Cheyne Walk were purchased by the leading arts and crafts designer Charles Robert Ashbee. He restored the facades and internal details whilst removing party walls to create one large dwelling. It is believed this image shows the site prior to restoration.
