Looking from Workman's Gardens towards the abbey tower, built after 1513 by Abbot Lichfield and untouched by the general demolition of the site after the dissolution. Two traditional horse-drawn wagons stand on the opposite river bank.

Description

Traditional horse-drawn wagons were first used by Showmen in the early 19th century. By 1850 they were also in use by the Romanichal community and are known as ‘vardos’ in the Romani language.
