Description

This drawing was previously thought to show the memorial at St Giles Street, Oxford, dedicated to Cranmer, Latimer and Ridley, the Protestant martyrs who were burnt as heretics during the reign of Queen Mary I. The drawing is probably intended to depict the scene during the 17th century.
