Description

The building is also known as The Rodd. The fireplace has herringbone brick work at the back. The carved, overmantel decoration consists of three bays framed by pairs of Ionic pilasters and sub-divided by panelled pilasters with an enriched shield below the shelf. The central sections contains a cartouche of the arms of Rodd impaling Kirkham (for Richard Rodd, d.1673, and his wife Barbara Kirkham). A print of this image is in the RCHME Inventory Notes for Rodd, Nash and Little Brampton. This image is printed in the RCHME Inventory volume Herefordshire III-North West.
