Description

This appears to be a preparatory sketch for a later full reconstruction painting (see IC015/005). The reconstruction is based on the discovery of 'Boxgrove Man' an early hominid whose remains were excavated at Boxgrove Quarry, also known as Eartham Pit, near Boxgrove in West Sussex. The quarry yielded the remains of prehistoric animals, dating from around 500,000 years BP.
