Description

Multiple conjectural reconstruction illustrations are created largely where the archaeological evidence is ambiguous or absent, and are also sometimes used to explore theories about the potential appearance of a structure or object. In this case, the plan of the turret is known and the lower courses of stonework are evident, but the appearance of the upper storey of the turret is unknown. See illustrations IC048/018 and IC048/019 for the two other conjectural reconstructions of the turret.

A note on the sheet reads 'Piper Sike T51a, 79', and may refer to the locations/ publications where this illustration was to be reproduced.
