Description

Willowford Bridge was built in about 122AD, and was a narrow footbridge carrying the Hadrian's Wall over the River Irthing. Please see drawings IC048/033 and IC048/035 for depictions of the later phases of the bridge.

This drawing has a tracing paper overlay attached, which shows details of the original reprographic requirements (not technically part of the image, but important in understanding the use of the drawing). A note on the sheet reads 'Willowford Bridge, 91', and may refer to the locations/ publications where this illustration was to be reproduced.
