Description

This illustration is one of a set of twelve drawings depicting Housesteads Roman Fort, created by Philip Corke, perhaps as one commission. The reverse of the board is marked 'panel 1'; this could mean that the illustrations were commissioned in order to be incorporated into interpretation panels to be placed at the site.
