Description

In this view, the near-side walls have been removed to allow a view in to the interior chambers. The Keeper of the King's Jewels is shown carrying out business in the ground floor chamber, while precious items are stored in the chambers above.

This illustration was commissioned in order to be included in a new English Heritage guidebook for the Jewel Tower, and it was also used on the English Heritage website pages for the site. Illustration IC247/003 is the black and white line version of this artwork on which this painting is based.
