Description

Woolworth's store number 53 opened on Gold Street in 1915. The Art Deco facade was added at a later date. It closed in the late 20th century, and the premises were occupied by Frank Brierley's supermarket from around 1976 until 1987. In the early 2000s the shop was a clothing store known as Fame Fashions.
