Description

The store on Abington Street was the second store operated by F W Woolworth and Co Ltd in Northampton; the first was located on Gold Street. The Abington Street store was opened in 1929 and was numbered store 350. It was built or red brick, with Art Deco faience tiling probably added to the facade at a later date. The store closed in 2008 and the premises were later occupied by a Tesco Metro store, which itself closed at some point between 2019 and 2021.
