Description

The Burton store was built in 1924, when foundation stones laid by Barbara Jessie Burton and Stanley Howard Burton. The corner site was numbered 2-8 Friar Lane and 10-13 Beastmarket Hill in 1941, and was later renumbered nos. 2-4 and 11 respectively. In the 21st century, the building was numbered 2-6 Friar Lane and 11-13 Beastmarket Hill. The Burton and Dorothy Perkins store closed at some point between 2019 and 2021.
