Description

The site at the junction of Union Street and Market Street was occupied by Burton from 1923 until 1980. The Burton store shown in this photograph was designed by George Watt and is thought to have been built between 1929-1932. Foundation stones were laid by Raymond Montague Burton and Stanley Howard Burton in 1932.
