Description

Foundation stones were laid at the site by Stanley Howard Burton and Raymond Montague Burton during construction in 1938. After closing as a Burton store, the building was occupied by Courts furniture store, and later by 99p and Poundland discount stores. In the early 2000s, the upper floors were offices known as Goshawk House.
