The copy is derived from Ordnance Survey maps and is entitled 'Battle Abbey and the 1066 Battlefield Lots 1 & 2 sold at auction in London on 24 June 1976.' The scale of 1:2500 on the original has been crossed out on the enlarged copy and replaced with 1:1250. The item, also carries the name and address of the Department of the Environment Ancient Monuments Branch, and the date May 1989 added in black ink.
