Description

The sheet shows designs for handrails in staircase one in the Victorian 'old battery' and staircase two in the 'old castle'. The drawings include plans of staircase one at guardhouse and casement levels, with a sectional elevation of the handrail in situ in the staircase, a section of the handrail itself and an elevation of the handrail termination. Drawings of staircase two include plans at first floor and roof levels, with a sectional elevation of the handrail and staircase. The plans and sectional elevations on the sheet are at 1:20 scale, with the details at 1:2 scale.
