The drawings are annotated with measurements and construction notes. The elevations show one end and half of the back and front of the Institute and indicate the changes to be made. The end elevation is at 1" to 4ft and the others at 1" to 8ft. The construction details include sections and plans and range in scale from 1" to 2ft to 1/4 size (3" to 1ft). This copy was taken from a tracing of the original which had been signed by several Royal Engineers. This copy is also signed by G Lewis of G Lewis and Sons (Dover) Ltd, probably the builders and a witness.
