Description

The drawing is divided into four parts. Each of these is indicated on an inset plan of the east side of the castle. The first is of the stairs giving access from the courtyard to first floor of the gatehouse - ground- and first-floor plans and matching sections of the tower with a detail of the top of the newel; the second is of the gangway at the west end of the chapel - plan, elevation and section; the third is a plan of the gangway across the breach in the curtain wall; and the fourth is of the gangway in the south-east tower - plan, elevation and section.
