Description

The sheet shows the north and south faces of the axial section, and sections six feet to the north and the south of the axis. Individual stones are numbered on the drawing. The drawing is signed 'S.P. 1956'. This refers to the archaeologist Stuart Piggott, who, along with Professor RJC Atkinson, excavated the site in 1955-56. Likely to have been produced for publication as the sheet is marked 'fig.6' in pencil.
