Description

There have been three Exchange Buildings on this site, the first built in 1803-1808 in the Neo-classical style, the second in 1864-1867 in a French Renaissance style and the current building dating from the 1930s. This photograph is a copy of an image showing the demolition of the neo-classical Georgian building taken in the mid 19th century.

The photograph has been reproduced in `Built on Commerce: Liverpool's Central Business District' by Joseph Sharples & John Stonard (2008) Page 42, referenced by former archive object number 96784.
