The house was destroyed by fire in 1914 and the site is now occupied by Briar Cottage and Pilgrim's Cottage. The building is referred to as Monument 3 in the RCHME Inventory Volume 1 Essex.
This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.
