Description

The area is referred to as Helenstowe. Number 60 East St Helen's Street was also called the Malthouse. The Malthouse was in operation in the mid seventeenth century until the nineteenth century. It also includes elements of the medieval dyehouse.This image is believed to have been taken after the alterations that commenced between 1910 and 1911. The building during this time was used as business premises for solicitor Charles Alfred Pryce.

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
