15th century carved pulpit which was restored in 1870.
This print is on the same card as OP28783, OP28785 and OP28786. An Anglican parish church dating to at least the 12th century and developed to its present complex plan by the late 15th century. It was heavily restored in the 1870s by GE Street, one of the cases which led to William Morris's founding of the SPAB. Coursed rubble and ashlar too (especially tower and Gild Chapel), lead and copper roofs concealed by parapets large Cotswold wool church; roughly cruciform in plan with central tower and spire. 5 bay aisled and clerestoried nave, North and South chapels, 3 storey South porch and the Gild chapel to the South-West.
This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.
